Well, how about this? I received the email below from P&O earlier today: Dear …..,  We hope you enjoyed your cruise on Britannia. We have, since your return, experienced an issue with our on-board account settlement process. What this means for you is that a second amount (not your on-board account figure) has been pre-authorised […]

Britannia 2016 – cabin F219

The pictures above show the cabin we had. It’s a ‘Balcony with Shower and Sofa’ (category GB). As a cabin we preferred it slightly to the equivalent cabins on Ventura / Azura – we thought the small sofa was a definite plus. That balcony, however, is a different matter…. In an earlier post I said […]

Here are a few images taken around Britannia. Nothing special, and they’re not comprehensive – just bought they might be interesting.

Britannia 2016 – Conclusion

We’re home. Britannia berthed at about 6:30 or a bit earlier, and self-disembarkers were making their way ashore by 7 o’clock. We took our bags down at about 7:20 and by 7:30 we were in our car so this was possibly our easiest self-disembarkation ever. It probably helped that we hadn’t tried to join the […]

Britannia 2016 – Last day

We’ve been enjoying our last day, a sea day, on Britannia. We were up until quite late last night but stayed in bed late this morning and haven’t really done anything noteworthy today. The weather has been glorious today – sunny and warm enough all day, with pleasant breezes. We breakfasted; wandered round parts of […]

Britannia 2016 – Stavanger

We’ve been in Stavanger today, and it’s been very hot and sunny. We did an excursion this morning – a walking tour of Stavanger. This was supposed to last for two hours but in fact was just  about finished in under 90 minutes. To be honest, I’m not sure how much there is in Stavanger, […]

This evening we’ve been sailing through Sognefjord from Flam to the Norwegian Sea. We left Flam at about 7 o’clock or just before, and Captain Brown included in his post-departure announcement that it might be approaching midnight before Britannia finally cleared the fjord. So the sailout down the 100-mile length of the fjord will take […]

Britannia 2016 – Flam

Today we’ve been at Flam. We had decided quite early in our planning to not do an excursion here. The obvious one is the Flam train, the Flamsbana. Well, we’d already decided to do the train ride at Andalsnes yesterday, and we didn’t fancy train rides on two successive days. So the plan was to […]

Last night we had an evening in the Limelight Club. The act we were going to see was Jaki Graham, who was doing three nights (I think) on this cruise. The evening was structured as follows: we turned up at 7pm and, after a short wait, were shown to our table for the evening. Then […]

Britannia 2016 – Andalsnes

Today we’ve been in Andalnes. It was very cloudy – foggy, in fact – as we sailed in, but by the time we’d finished breakfast the clouds were lifting and we could see the magnificent scenery. We were supposed to tender today, but in the event Captain Brown managed to get Britannia docked. He announced […]
