Some while ago I did this post about plans by The Virgin Group to enter the cruise market.

It’s now been reported that Virgin Cruises have made a firm order for three new build ships. As expected the order has been placed with Fincantieri of Italy, but to be built at the Sestri Ponenti yard in Genoa in north-west Italy. Most of Fincantieri’s cruise ship orders are built at Monfalcone, near Venice, in north-east Italy. As suggested in the earlier post, the ships will be delivered in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
