Azura at lisbon

So it’s the last day of the cruise, and we already feel as if it’s over. It’s just before 1pm as I write this. We’ve sorted out our clothes for the rest of today and tomorrow, we’ve packed, and there’ll just be the last scurry round the cabin in the morning to make sure we aren’t leaving anything behind. As usual we’re doing self-disembarkation, which is going to be hard work – we have an extra bag this time (my suit carrier), plus all the regulars – two large suitcases, my big camera bag, and two rucksacks. We also have two bottles of whisky and four bottles of wine that we bought along the way, and we have to get all of this off the ship on our own in one go. Ah well, it will be hard work for a few minutes but it will be worth it. The self-disembarkation slot is between 07:30 and 07:45 tomorrow morning, so if all goes well we should be in the car and heading for home by 8 o’clock – we’re not ones for spinning it out.

Another reason we know that it’s almost over is that it’s a lot cooler outside than it was a few days ago. I’m sat on the balcony which is due to get the sun until mid-afternoon today, and it is warm enough, but I”m wearing heavier trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and a light fleece top. It feels like a really good autumn day; it’s clearly not summer anymore.

Today we’re going to have another meal in the Glasshouse mid-afternoon and call that our dinner. Then we’ll go to the early show and listen to Adrian Walsh, the Irish comedian again, and maybe grab some supper from the buffet after that, then it will be an early night. And that will be that – another cruise over. This will most likely be the last post from on board Azura. In a few days’ time I’ll do my normal review and summary. I hope everyone has enjoyed the posts.

Not sure that the photo above is at Gibraltar – looks more like Lisbon”

I’ll check, once I’ve recovered the images from the laptop that I took on the cruise.

Update – you’re right, it is Lisbon. The presence of Explorer of the Seas behind Azura is the giveaway.

I also meant to say that I have enjoyed your detailed review – almost like being there!
