Ventura_drydockSometime late yesterday (26 March) Ventura was moved from outside the Hamburg cruise terminal where she’d been since last week to Elbe Dock 17, a big dry-dock on the southern side of the river Elbe in the Blohm + Voss shipyard. That’s a (pretty poor) webcam picture of her in that dock. Also shown is another ship in dock 10, one of the floating dry-docks. I think that might be Albatross: it’s not very clear on this photo but when I looked at the webcam earlier today it looked like the ship was wearing Phoenix Reisen colours, and Albatross is one of theirs. Built in 1973 and originally called Royal Viking Sea, Albatross is also a sister-ship to Fred Olsen’s Black Watch and Boudicca.

Update: here’s a link to excellent set of pictures covering Ventura’s move into the dry-dock.
