Ocean Countess seems to be progressing with her cruise without further problems. She visited Fort William yesterday, successfully navigating the Corran Narrows on Loch Linnhe. I’ve been there on a small vehicle ferry, and there’s not a lot of room. So little, in fact, that just a month or so ago the captain of Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ other ship, Marco Polo, refused to try it, and Fort William was left disappointed. But the captain of Ocean Countess felt able to make the passage and succeeded. (To be fair, Ocean Countess is a bit smaller in all dimensions than Marco Polo.) Ocean Countess is visiting Bute today and should be back in Liverpool later this week – tomorrow, I think.

Here’s a link to a YouTube video posted by the Oban Times about Ocean Countess’ visit. You get a couple of bonuses with the video: some footage of PS Waverley, which was also in Fort William yesterday, and a truly weird advert at the beginning. Enjoy!
