At least one UK-based TA has now published Princess Cruises’ 2013 European schedule, and it includes cruises on the new Royal Princess. Frustratingly, however, it doesn’t give deck plans or any more information about her.

Why is this important? Well, Royal Princess is the first of three ships being ordered from Fincantieri for Carnival. The first two are for Princess, the third is for P&O. My assumption has been that the P&O ship will have the same relationship to the Princess ships – of which Royal Princess will be the first – as Ventura and Azura have to Crown Princess, Emerald Princess and Ruby Princess. In other words, while P&O may alter some details of what goes where, the basic layout of the ship and her general features (e.g. will she have a real promenade?) will be same for all three of them. This means that as soon as we have this information for Royal Princess, we’ll have it for the new P&O ship as well.

But not yet.

Got the Thomas Cook mailer this morning, out of Southampton 16th. June for 7 nights to Barcelona. Then she stays there until returning to Florida October. She will be doing 2 x 3 day samplers prior to June ex Southampton. Clever pictures on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/princesscruises/sets/72157626143345353/

Obviously no Crows Nest and very difficult to make the prom deck out.
