Having been away for a few days I’ve not been able to keep up to date with the progress of Oriana’s refit, so this was supposed to be a bit of a catch-up post. Unfortunately there’s not a lot to add.

She’s due back in service tomorrow so not surprisingly she’s now on her way back to Southampton: as I write she’s off the north coast of the Netherlands doing 15 knots. There are no new updates about the refit on the ‘Discover P&O Cruises’ official blog site, and all the information about Oriana on the P&O website still has the old deck plans and refers to her as a “Family-friendly … ship”. It does say “(Exclusively for adults from 19 December)”, but I would have hoped that they would have updated the details by now. Hopefully it will done tomorrow, and also hopefully we’ll get to see some images of the completed work.

Thank you Tom I’ve only just discovered your blog and find it very helpful and informative, I am fairly new to cruising having done four up to now so while not being a cruise virgin anymore I am still very much a cruise novice. My first was in 2008 on Queen Victoria and I’m looking forward to trying an inside cabin for the first time on MSC Splendida at the end of January.

Keep blogging it is very good to read.
